What is Proform?

Proform is a versatile and simple to use Formulated Meal Replacement, that can provide additional energy, protein, vitamins and minerals where intake from the current diet is inadequate.

What is a formulated meal replacement?

A Formulated Meal Replacement is a dietary supplement designed to provide the nutrients and energy required by the body in the form of a drink. These are commonly used during times of illness or when it is not possible to eat the required amount of food to provide the body with its required nutrients. It is not a complete meal replacement, therefore both energy and nutrients are required to be consumed from dietary sources in addition to the recommended 60g per day of Proform. It can also be used in smaller amounts to supplement a diet lacking in nutrients or for those requiring more energy and protein in their daily diets.

What does Proform taste like?

Neutral Proform has a pleasant but bland flavour, some say that it is similar to skim milk. It is not sweet and can be added to both sweet and savoury foods and beverages without affecting the flavour of that food. eg. Porridge or custard. Vanilla Proform has a sweeter flavour and is ideal as a drink mixed with water or milk. It is made using Vanilla beans.

How should I use Proform?

Proform powder can be mixed with water or milk to make a pleasant drink, which can also be flavoured. Neutral Proform also mixes well in orange juice and any soup. ‘Wet’ dishes like porridge, casseroles or dishes with a creamy sauce are also ideal to mix Proform into. Neutral Proform also mixes well directly into tea or coffee instead of liquid milk.

How long can I keep Proform for?

An unopened tin of Proform has a ‘shelflife’of 3 years. Once open, the plastic lid should always be kept on and only dry utensils used to measure it out, Proform should be used within 2 months of opening.

Does Proform contain sugar?

No, there is no added sucrose (table sugar) in Proform. It contains another carbohydrate, maltodextren, which is not sweet and breaks down to glucose in the body. Proform also contains lactose, the natural sugar found in milk.
